My name is Patrick Plomp. Since 1979, I have been collecting historical paper money and numismatic documents related to the Netherlands. What began as a personal passion has developed into a deep and broad expertise. My interest lies not only in the notes themselves, but especially in the stories behind them.

Over the years, I have served as Secretary and Editor of the Dutch chapter of the International Banknote Society, and as Regional Director for the global organization. I’ve shared my knowledge through lectures, publications, and several catalogues, including two comprehensive works covering Dutch paper money from 1573 to the euro era—both domestic and overseas issues.

In 2024, I contributed to a publication on the Netherlands Trading Society and its banknotes issued in Asia, including the 1909 Shanghai Dollars.
